Does this mean we will never see Duke Nukem Forever...forever? For those who don't know, 3D Realms is the company behind classics such as DOOM [Protip: To kill the cyberdemon shoot it until it dies.], Wolfenstein (Nazis!) and Duke Nukem. After 20 some odd years of being in business 3D Realms will shut down this month.

Man, I remember gaming newspapers taliking about it waaaayyyyyy ago.... like 7-8 years ago...

And developers promising that it would come out "as soon as it's the best game that can appear on the market".

I'm not upset about Duke Nukem Forever, I'm happy about that--now the media can stfu about it. I'm very upset that Prey 2 will probably never be made. Prey was an awesome game and it even had a cut scene at the end that said "Prey will continue" or something like that. RIP Prey 2, I really wanted to play you. 3D Realms, I hope none of you were surprised. If you want to stay in business you have to put a game out more than once a decade.

it's just up to another developer to purchase the copyrights that 3d realms held. not saying it's going to happen, but it's not something that's out of the question.

Well, at least we won;t have to put up with another crappy Max Payne game. Thank god for small favors. That series was horrid.

Oh, and by the way, this is old news. We knew about this a week and ahalf ago.

Yeah but would Duke really be the same? It's like Treyarch and the Call of Duty series. Although they may be competent developers, they can't compare to Infinity Ward's dedication to the series.

The sad part is that I'm looking at all the leaked Media for DN:F and shiz that's being released on the intertubes and its TOTALLY everything I would imagine for the game to be. Too bad though, the world could totally use some more Duke.

Something that bothered me about the OP: id developed Doom and Wolfenstein. Apogee was just the publisher.

Also, we will see another Max Payne game before the end of the year. Rockstar is working on the next installment right now.
