I have a question about the PRIVATE SERVERS!

AHHH OMG THE WORLD IS GOING TO END!!!

Really what is the deal? It seems that is a phrase we can't say? Why is this considered cheating? or how ever you may think of it. I would like to converse with you about this topic and why we can not speak of it, and is it cheating?

The reason it isn't allowed is not that it's some terrible, horrible thing and it really has nothing to do with cheating. The plain and simple fact is that this site parallels SEGA's view on private servers. Since SEGA has not endorsed them, nor given permission for others to run them, PSOW chooses not to allow advertising for them. Honestly that's it in a nutshell. I've used the private servers before and even run my own servers using "youknowwho's" software to do it and it was actually pretty cool. I don't think that the staff has anything personal against the private servers, but what it boils down to is not what we personally think should or shouldn't be ok, but rather what has been established as "the forum rules" and as long as it is against the forum rules, we (the staff) are here to make sure those rules are followed.

As I have said in the past, if there was a rule that one of us felt so strongly against and were so troubled by, I'm sure any one of us would ask to be relieved of our position, but not allowing discussion of private servers doesn't fall into that category http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
